What Color Should You Dye Your Hair

When you want to dye your hair to make a difference, but you don’t know what color should choose, below are some tips for you.
If you want to go BLONDE:
If you have warm undertones to your skin, blonde hair will probably look good on you-go for golden shade. If you have cool undertones, blonde hair has the possibility to wash you out, but it could also give you a stunning, elegant look.
If you want to go BROWN:
A chestnut brown will warm up almost anyone’s face, no matter what tone. A deeper chocolate brown can be stunning or stark on pale skin, so dye with caution.
If you want to go BLACK:
Black hair can be tricky and like dark brown, it may run a fine line between stunning and stark. If you have warm undertones and darker skin, black hair will look more natural on you. If you have cool undertones and pale skin, black can look very unique or exotic or shockingly washed out.
If you want to go RED:
If you have warm undertones, red will look best. For those of you with cool undertones, a shocking true red will look stunning, while a more blue-toned red will offer more contrast. When dyeing hair red, think about it the same way as choosing the perfect red lipstick.
If you are still not sure which color is right for you or worried about hair damage because of dye color, UniWigs hair extensions is a good option for you, the hair extensions are already dyed, you can find the right color you want to try. Such as blonde hair extensions, white blonde hair extensions.

How to Apply Full Lace Wigs

Full lace wigs look natural and stay put when you put them on correctly. They can even be worn during most sports activities without coming off. Put on your full front lace wig the right way so that only you will know that those luxurious locks are not yours.

Step 1
Put on a flesh-colored wig cap, tucking all of your hair inside the cap. Adjust the wig cap so it sits at your front hairline. If you don’t want to wear a wig cap, comb your hair back away from your scalp line.
Step 2
Trim the lace on the full lace wig. This only needs to be done the first time you use your wig, and it does not need to be done if the lace has already been trimmed by the manufacturer. To trim the lace, put the wig on your head. Use hair clips to fasten the wig hair back away from your scalp line. Trim any lace that sticks out past the wig hairline using a pair of sharp scissors. Cut small amounts of lace at a time to avoid accidentally cutting too much. Be careful not to cut any of the wig hair. Leave a little bit of lace sticking out past the wig hairline, but no more than 1 inch.
Step 3
Clean the skin by your hairline with a cotton ball dampened with isopropyl alcohol to remove body oils that could prevent the wig adhesive from sticking properly.
Step 4
Apply scalp protector to the skin by your hairline. This only is necessary if you have sensitive skin.
Step 5
Attach wig tape to the edges of the full lace wig. The tape is applied to the edges of the lace around the underside of the wig. Wig tape can be used alone or in combination with wig adhesive.
Step 6
Apply a thin layer of wig adhesive to your scalp using a cotton swab. Allow the wig adhesive to dry for the length of time recommended on the label directions. Wig adhesive can be used alone or in combination with wig tape.
Step 7
Position the full lace wig on your head. The easiest way to find the front-center of the wig is to part the hair on the wig. Parting the hair will reveal the hairline. The middle of the wig hairline should line up with the middle of your forehead at your hairline. Press down on the edges of the wig for five seconds to make the adhesive stick to your skin. Style the wig as desired.

Things You’ll Need
1.Flesh-colored wig cap
2.Hair clips
3.Scissors
4.Cotton ball
6.Scalp protector
7.Wig tape
8.Wig adhesive
9.Cotton swab

How to become a wig supplier?

Wig making is a large industry, which may come as a surprise to some. Most wig companies produce thousands of wigs, beards, and other hair-related items for their customers. If you want to become a wig maker, you don’t need anything more than high school education, though you should be prepared to take additional beautician’s courses or to begin in an entry-level job where you will be trained how to use the equipment. Prospective wig makers need confidence and concentration to meet their daily quota. They also need to be flexible as working conditions in a wig making factory can change very quickly.

If you want to become a wig maker, you probably already know that the job is often misunderstood even though it is an important part of a number of industries. A wig maker generally makes wigs and beards in an industrial work environment and, at most companies, may be asked to make more than 100 wigs in a day. In general, wigs are made by using a machine to thread artificial, or sometimes real, hair through needles.

Although you don’t need post-secondary education to become a wig maker, it is a good idea to take beautician courses ,or something similar, at a technical school or community college. Avoid spending money on short online courses as they provide little in the way of useful training. Most companies do offer on-the job training, which often consists of three months or more of learning how to use the wig-making machinery. The companies generally pay minimum wage to begin with, though there may be some kind of pay ladder which you can move up as you gain more experience.

To become a wig maker, you need to be extremely confident in your ability as you will be creating dozens, if not hundreds, of wigs a day without much supervision once you become more experienced. It is also vital for you to have a high level of concentration. When you are dealing with powerful machinery, losing concentration can not only cause you to damage the wig you are making, it also increases your chances of sustaining a serious injury from the machines.

If you want to become a wig maker, you must also be flexible and creative. These are important skills because companies routinely change wig and beard designs. The pressure is then on the employee to quickly learn and perfect the new design without delay. You must also have patience in order to become a wig maker as moving up a company’s ranks takes years of hard work and persistence.

What is wig glue?

Wig glue is a type of adhesive used for synthetic or human hair attachments. Glue is generally used for larger hair wigs that need additional support before being placed onto the head. This type of adhesive is also preferable for men and women who cannot use other attachment methods, such as tape and bobby pins. There are a variety of different kinds of wig glues for consumers to choose from with varying strengths. When placing the glue directly on the scalp, users might consider other complementing products such as an adhesive removal and a scalp protector.

Hairpieces are used by men and women to either cover baldness or to change their looks. Full-headed wigs can be placed directly onto the head, while others are attached to a lace cap in order to protect the scalp. Hair extensions are an option that continues to increase in popularity in those individuals who have short locks but do not wish to have long strands on a daily basis. Smaller hair pieces, such as pony tails, are convenient ways to change a person’s appearance in a hurry.

hair toppers

Although wigs and other hairpieces are relatively easy to place on the head, users need to make sure that they will stay put. Adhesive options range from tapes to glues, with the latter generally being the most reliable option. Wig glue is either placed directly onto a person’s hairline where the hairpiece will be placed, or onto the cap. A glue remover is often necessary in order to remove the adhesive from the head, so some consumers find it easier to place the liquid adhesive onto a cap instead.

Placing wig glue onto the desired area should be done with care so that users do not waste any of it. Generally, a small amount is sufficient enough to keep the wig in place. Shoppers might consider looking for wig glue that comes with a brush for an easier and more precise application. Such products look similar to that of nail polish, and are sold in wig shops as well as beauty supply stores.

There are a variety of different types of wig glues from which shoppers can choose depending on the material of the hair attachments that they have, as well as their desired results. Some glue is specifically designed for synthetic wigs, while others are more appropriate for human hair versions. Glue comes in varying strength levels, but most kinds take up to 15 minutes until they are completely dry. Purchasing wig glue remover will make clean-up of stray glue or complete removal an easier process as well.

What are hair extensions?

Hair extensions, also called hair weaves, are lengths of real or synthetic hair that are closely attached to a person’s scalp, adding length and/or thickness to the person’s own natural hair. There are several different systems for attaching hair extensions, some of which are longer lasting than others. When well matched in color and texture, and professionally applied by a competent stylist, hair extensions are designed to mix in and move naturally with a person’s own hair, making it difficult to tell the person is wearing them. They can provide volume, extend hair, and add highlights or lowlights. With the proper maintenance, some extensions can last up to a full year before they need to be removed.

Types of Extensions
Both human and synthetic hair extensions are available, and both come in a variety of colors, textures, styles, and lengths. Each type has its own set of advantages and disadvantages. Natural or human hair extensions are usually significantly more expensive than their synthetic counterparts, though they are typically considered to be of higher quality. Synthetic hair is made from chemically processed fibers; although more affordable, it may not look as real and can be more difficult to style.

Human Hair
High quality, long-lasting human hair extensions are often available only through salons. The hair can be washed, conditioned, dried, and colored just like a person’s own hair. It also tends to provide a great deal of styling freedom; heat styling at temperatures reaching 430°F (about 221°C) should not damage the hair. This typically results in faster and longer-lasting styles with more shine.

Synthetic Hair
Made from various types of synthetic fibers, these hair extensions are often available in a wider variety of beauty supply stores, drug stores, and other locations. The quality of synthetic hair can vary widely, but the two most common types are made of Kanekalon® and Toyokalon® fibers. Of the two, Kanekalon® is the most resistant to heat, and can be styled with curling irons and straighteners at up to 230°F (110°C) without melting or other damage. Toyokalon®, although less heat-resistant, usually tangles less and may last longer.

Application Techniques
Hair extensions can be attached in a number of different ways, depending on the type of hair, the amount being added, the budget of the consumer, and his or her lifestyle. When significant amounts of hair are to be attached, or the hair is expected to last for a long time, a professional stylist typically should be consulted.

Hair Extension Knowledge from UNIWIGS

Googling hair extensions and feeling a wee bit overwhelmed with all the info, or lack there of? So sick of reading gimmicky, confusing info? Let me help you with some insider terms. First, fusion. You hear this alot. It means typically a strand is fused to hair by a solvent or compression. It what’s mainly around the KC area. Fusion method requires a VERY heated tool to attach a bond to your hair and either an acetone or oil solvent to remove it. Compression is my fave. It just compress the hair to your natural hair.   Remy, another term you hear ALL the time. Quite over used if you ask me. It just means the hair still has its cuticle intact. A hair shaft in good condition has a cuticle( outer layer like a Christmas tree) that is tight and close together , cortex (middle layer) and medulla( inner core of hair shaft). If someone over colors or  his heavy handed with flat or curling irons( we see it all the time) more than likely the cuticle has been damaged.  Remy basically means un -damaged  ,  virgin hair.  Remy is soo not a big deal anymore. If a hair extension company even has to say its “remy”  it screams unprofessional to me.  I mean if your getting professionl extensions then shouldn’t remy hair be a given?  Then of course there is the origin. Which part of the world it comes from. Very important.  See my other posts about this.

So here’s what we use and why.
The Hairloc brand of extensions hair specialize in adding length, volume, color ,thickness and helping clients regain hair density lost due to illness and medical treatments. Most extension companies use Indian hair and we have found that this simply does not blend well with most western hair textures  It is the only professional company to offer 100% European (Italian or Russian) full cuticle hair extensions with no heat, glue, or other solvents.  If you know me and the salon then you know we believe that the cleanest and purest way to achieve a desired look is always the best. That is why we use Hairlocs. Its quite simple. We only use 2 things for extensions. The loc and the hairstrand. The loc is tiny tube made from copper. Copper is a naturally occuring metal in our body, so a full set of Hairlocs can actually promote increased hair growth. Copper has also been proven to help with inflammation. We thread this copper “loc” through a strand of your hair and then insert the extension and compress with a special tool. Since the hair is enclosed in this weightless little loc, there is less tension. Other knock-off brands use an aluminum bead which can corrode and mildew your hair. This blows my mind. I wont even use deoderant with aluminum , let alone attach it my hair!? Plus our type of extension is re- usable for 12-18 months. So over the long run most economical. Other systems are un-usable after a few months. To me that is just plain wasteful.

Some salons offer this “technique” but if a stylist doesn’t unroll the hair in front of you and its wrapped in tissue that has the HairLoc logo, its not HairLocs.  I’ve heard of stylists who are certified with professional companies, like Hairlocs , but then use hair from other, less reputable suppliers. So the client thinks they’re getting this hair, but aren’t. They dont exactly lie, perhaps.. but they aren’t exactly telling you its not HairLocs.   How freakin shady is that?? This company is the highest end not only for the theory, but for the quality of the hair as well. They were the first to do this method and the first to offer European hair. Other “budget” online sites wont stand behind the hair quality.

Beware of these salons, they’re all about profit.
So my advice to anyone thinking of getting extensions, do some research. You will find the right system for your hair and your budget.  And be realistic.  All extensions require maintence and vigilant at home care. If you slack on home hair care in between visits. It shows, literally. The last few weeks have been hectic  and I didnt use the right products or brush my hair as often as I should have and hellooo Chewbacca! My hair  looked dry and dull.   A little TLC revived it, but it taught me a valuable lesson. Treat your hair crappy , it will look like crappy . Treat it with luv, and it will luv you back.

How are hair extensions attached?

There are many different methods in which you can wear hair extensions. These are the general terms the industry uses to represent the process. There are many variations of these methods based on the individual who is performing the job ranging from braid weave, tree braids, individuals, latch hooks, pole method and much more. Please consult with your stylist before choosing a method.

1) Weaving, A process in which you create tracks on the individuals head and sew the hair extensions on. This method is the most widely used method in adding hair extensions.
2) Braiding, A process in which you add hair extensions by braiding them in. There are many types of braiding techniques which varies from one skilled beautician to another. Tree Braid, Braid Weave or Individuals, Cornrow, and French Braid are just to name a few.
3) Ring loop, One of the new process in which the metal ring is already on the hair ready to attach using the His & Her Ring – Xer. It is very easy to apply and can be re-used.
4) I Tip, A process in which an “I” shaped glue is already on the tip of the hair ready to be attach by using the His & Her Extension Iron or with a Ring. With the Ring, there’s no heat applied to the hair
5) U Tip, A process in which the U shaped glue is already on the tip of the hair ready to attach by using the His & Her Extension Iron.
6) Hot glue gun method, A process in which the extension hair is attached directly to your own hair by heated glue stick. In this method, an acrylic glue stick is placed inside a glue gun which heats and melt the glue. Then, the hair extension and the glue are attached directly onto the individual’s hair.
7) Bonding, The simplest method. A bonding glue is brushed or applied onto the weft of the extension hair and then it is applied at the root of the individual’s hair. It can easily be removed by a remover the glue comes with. This is a temporary method.
8) Clip ons, A process in which the extension hair is pre-cut and has clips attached on the weft to clip on and off to your own hair. It is very simple and easy to wear. You can put it on or take it off as you please.

How To Apply Lace Front Wigs

Lace front wigs are high quality wigs used when the person wearing it would like the hair brushed away from the hairline. Because of the lace, it creates a much more natural look great for theatre and film. Learn how to apply a lace front wig correctly with this informative video!

Lace front wigs. I think we need to explain to people the basic principle and idea of the lace fronts. The lace idea is that you can brush the hair forward.

Sorry, forward or back, but mainly to expose the hairline. Most general wigs will not give you this because there is an edging. So, the lace is used to create a more natural hairline.

There used an awful lot in theatrical work, as well as on film sets and things like that, but for people that want to have that specific thing, that is where the lace is. Underneath here, you will use a special lace tape which will sit on this area here. Once that’s applied to that area, as you would apply any form of double sided tape, the tape is then applied to this area along the front edge and applied there, and then is attached to the scalp.

So the tape is stuck underneath this edge, it is a special tape, it is not the normal secure tape, it is a special one that will adhere to the lace product. So you can see by putting a lace front on, you can create this effect which you could not do with a normal wig because you would show a bang, and that’s why you would have lace on the front of a wig. So that is how you apply a lace front wig to a human head.

Lace front wigs are high quality wigs used when the person wearing it would like the hair brushed away from the hairline. Because of the lace, it creates a much more natural look great for theatre and film.
